The leaves are ground in a cup

Stjll leaves a lot of dregs in the coffee. Amazon recommended filters are a waste of money. Would buy again. The lid is glass. I scratched the inside of the glass and didn't see the delamination of the inner plastic. Supplied with additional glass cover. If the coffee didn't have that much grind, I would give it 4.5 stars. Would I buy again as all the grist stays at the bottom of the cup.

good! Otherwise I would send back

My last coffee maker that I used for a few decades finally broke. Broken inside. American made! I bought this with my credits for only about $10, ok! Otherwise I would have sent it back! Whoever came up with this style was a total idiot. Space for sentence, the lid does not fit in the pan. Half of the soil ends up in the coffee. I've used a coffee bonus most of my life and I've never drunk that much. I have to remove the insides after brewing before I can pour or the lid will pop open and the…

Well if you want to tweak all the details to fit together.

This pot is similar to the old 6 cup Cabelos we have. Wanted something bigger but it's not what I would call a quality pot like our other. First, it's weak, the hinge rivet is too long, causing the lid to not sit properly. The lid hinge wasn't positioned correctly either, the top didn't close flush. The glass lid falls off every time we try to fill the cut and doesn't close properly. We discussed the possibility of sending it back but decided to take it with pliers. I squeezed the lid's hinge…

Texsport Stainless Steel 9 Cup Percolator

This percolator works great and doesn't have the defect of the Chinook drop pin percolator. The pin is keyed at both ends to prevent it from slipping out. I found a guide online that tells me how to make a good cup of coffee. You should brew the coffee at low temperature until it starts to boil and then turn on the fire to make it boil or come close to it. Let it steep for 5-10 minutes, but it's a process of trial and error for the right time. The instructions also recommend removing the filter

Percolators are the best!

First, brewing coffee is the best way to get great cups. The extraction method and the water temperature - of course in combination with the ground coffee - result in the highest coffee possible. Therefore, this article immediately gets 4 stars. I only left out one sprocket because the internal components are not as strong (metal thickness) as some other percolators. The cheaper plastic handle Farberware coffee maker has much better internals. But I was looking for something that's a tad (just…

Brews delicious coffee.

Rating I gave five stars, but I noticed a few points that caught my attention and that could be improved. Spot welding is not good at all here at first, so I would advise everyone to be careful with it. I love that it has an actual glass bulb for the included upper barrel which is a nice bonus. The trick with the sight glass is to screw it in by hand and stop turning clockwise when it touches and sits in place. If you overtighten the sight glass, the heat cycle will crack it. If you notice a…

Great coffee beware of the poorly made glass lid

I didn't write a review right away because I wanted to use this coffee pot for a while, something brand new is almost always great. We bought this jug in September 2015 and while it makes really great coffee, the small glass lid that fits into the top started peeling off almost immediately. We used aluminum foil to keep it in place because every time you tried to lift the lid the glass cap fell off. In the end, it couldn't even hold the aluminum foil, so we started using the second glass cap…

Best coffee maker I've ever had - and this is my second

Without a doubt the best coffee maker I've ever had. My first one was stolen from a warehouse a few years ago and I've been using a Speckleware percolator ever since, but eventually it rusted and I found these a good price so I bought them again, just as good quality as the first one. I see that some people are very critical of the quality they got in theirs. I don't get it, but I've heard there are some fakes out there claiming to be something they aren't. This SHOULD be the case as one guy…

The best camping coffee maker I've found.

My wife and I have a lot of rest. We camp in canoes, take backpacks, crash into a car (truck) and have great gadgets or do-it-yourself solutions for just about everything. Coffee has always been the hardest part for us to find a one-size-fits-all solution. Either you have to bring too many things (a French press needs both a kettle and a press, plus cups, plus coffee), or you drink coarse coffee (instant instant), or you make a mess (drip irrigation, which also has too much stuff requires !)…
