Great for money.

Great volume control for the money. The "clicks" at any volume are louder and seem more pronounced than the other volume controls, but everything works well. Installing these devices is always a pleasure. I highly recommend using a low voltage frame (box) instead of a regular electro box. The extra space in the low voltage box (and the added benefit of being able to work through the entire wall cavity) saves time and headaches during installation. Installed two blocks with no problems.

Incredibly bad design - 50% off for a good reason!

Where to start with this switch. Horribly written instructions explaining the obscure "impedance jumpers" on the back of the PCB, and worst of all, the INCREDIBLY complicated terminals for attaching wires to the box. You have to unscrew those micro Phillips screw heads, pull out a small piece of metal, insert the wire and tighten, which works about 50% of the time, the other 50% the wire slips out. Great price, quality issues

I bought 8 of these as part of a whole house system and then moved on to higher priority projects. These switches sat in the box for a year before I had time to devote them to installing the system. 6 out of 8 works exactly as advertised. 2 of them had dead channel each after installation. I don't know if they were DOA or died during storage. They were stored in my office so there were no extremes of temperature or humidity.
