Excellent coolant tester

Excellent coolant tester, I am a manager in a mechanical workshop. I offer customers their coolant test with Thexton 107. They love seeing how their coolant works! EXCELLENT for commercial use or personal use

Works great with tools and equipment

Seems to work well. I bought a used car two years ago and felt it would be best to check that the coolant was okay. It's hard to understand what someone did to give a product four or five stars. Three stars is my average rating, which means I liked it.

Hydrometry does not work for Propylene Glycol

After ordering this product, I found an article describing the problems associated with determining a Propylene Glycol solution by measuring its density. When I received this item, I thoroughly mixed 50/50 PG coolant and water and tested it with a tool. It wasn't even close.

Incorrect description Suitable for tools and equipment

The description of this product is incorrect. There is no sixth hard drive. This is a propylene tester but I think the description is for an ethylene glycol tester. The seller told me the description was wrong but it was a different seller at the time. This is a quality product that will last a very long time and for the $12 I paid it was well worth the price.

Good price for tools and equipment

That's a very good price, especially with super cheap shipping. Keep in mind that this refers to animal friendly and environmentally friendly propylene glycol antifreeze like Sierra, not traditional ethylene glycol like regular Prestone etc. In some communities you can even flush old propylene glycol down the drain. Check local regulations. Be patient while you wait for the discs to settle down. The instruction printed on the tool is a bit small but clear enough.

Avoid. Get a refractometer for perfect tests.

Saw this and thought it would be the perfect tool to test the glycol in my boiler. Well I should have listened to other reviews it's rubbish. Yes it gives you readings but they are very imprecise and you will never get the same value twice. If you just want a very rough estimate, this might be for you. Not for me. This is a return.
