Poor workmanship I can't close the lid

My NVME is only 2.7mm thick including the top 0.4mm metal. I cannot close the sliding lid. When I tried it scratched the top metal layer of the NVME. I used a razor blade to trim off the sharp edges on the side of the lid. Still couldn't close it. Even if I could I would be disappointed with how much the board rattles in the case and how much the NVME latch rattles in the board. I added a silicone washer to the latch screw to keep the latch from damaging the NVME. The same photo shows they used

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Weight

Beautiful and wonderful case

no tools required. No small, tiny screws to throw away. Aluminum housing that radiates heat very well. It fits in your pocket and the USB cable is good quality and stays plugged in. A tiny blue light indicates it's working.

Pros
  • quick change
Cons
  • poorly thought out

This thing gets super hot

With a Samsung 960 Pro 512GB connected via an Asus Thunderbolt 3 EX card on an Asus Prime x299 Deluxe motherboard, this case allowed my SSD, 2300MB/ s to read BUT I could only achieve 512 MB/s

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Almost perfect, but very unreliable

I didn't want to buy an external case and install my own SSD. I have 2 Samsung t5s and a t7. They work fine, but I need a much faster drive to use with my Mac Mini. After reading and researching many reviews, I decided to purchase a Yottamaster case. Looks good, drive installation was easy. It's not about speed. I was able to get 1800/2300 with a PNY 2TB SSD. This is less than the drive capacity, but acceptable. If you want full speed you need an externally powered chassis, so getting that…

Do not buy with Western Digital SN550. It may damage the SSD.

I tried another model of Thunderbolt Yattamaster and had the same problem as this one. I don't know if the WD SN550 is some kind of model with a different thickness than the other model, but the lid didn't close smoothly. When you tried to close the lid by gently pushing it, I had a feeling that the SSD might be damaged. The copper heat dissipation pad looks too thick and doesn't provide enough headroom to hold the SSD. The material was good, although the speed tested was poor compared to…

Attention AMD users

Uses an early version of JMS583. Large files cannot be transferred through the 10Gb/s USB-C port on my Asus X570i board or Asus G14 laptop. It works fine on Type-A ports, which are limited to 5Gbps, but I bought it based on 10Gbps claims.

Initial thoughts after setup

After receiving this today I installed the NVMe SB-ROCKET-2TB and ran a quick Blackmagic speed test. Installation was as easy as it gets and the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. While I haven't tested this device extensively, the copper heatsink seems to make good contact with the chipsets and provide decent heat transfer. Again, I haven't tested this extensively and will update as needed, this is just my initial feedback. Using the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test utility, I see 2239 MB/s…

Amazing performance

This case is exactly as described. It also works perfectly. Fast data transfer with Thunderbolt 3 interface. Gets a little warm, but it's an SSD, not a case.

Pros
  • Beautiful looks
Cons
  • Minor issues

Feels warm best in Computers & Accessories

Speed is good but doesn't match true TB3 speed (only 2k comes out) and I really like how hot the case gets, when touch reading at 91 degrees so I wish there was a fan in the case. But it still works great.

Pros
  • Handy Thing
Cons
  • There are nuances
