Clean device. Compact. It gets very hot even when idling. Seems to be idling at around 46C with a Sabrent 3.0 2TB NVMe. With a constant load, 62C work. Doesn't overheat but feels quite hot. Luckily I found another case with the same PCB but with a different 4 digit number that runs significantly cooler (54C) under load. It could just be a bigger, heavier aluminum case with more surface area to help it run a little cooler. Installation is easy. The screw holes aren't very smooth or hidden enough

Works great with 2011 iMac Thunderbolt 1

My Drobo 5D died (fourth in 10 years) connected to a 2011 iMac via Thunderbolt 1. I decided it was time to move on to more reliable storage. I liked the value for money of the NVME M.2 and decided to purchase this dual drive NVME enclosure. I connected it to my iMac using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter and lo and behold, it worked flawlessly. The trebeleet was well packaged, with quality TB3 cable, screwdriver, allen wrench and heat transfer spacers. I have bought other heat…

Very hot, inconsistent performance

Looking for fast external storage performance for my 2019 16" MacBook Pro (Big Sur), I purchased this Trebleet Thunderbolt 3 NVME SSD enclosure. The results were conflicting and varied, especially when recording.I tested this with three different NVMe SSDs - Western Digital SN750 Black 500GB, XPG 2TB, Samsung 970 Pro (which are not supported by Trebleet).I used Blackmagic speed test for performance testing.Used one Western Digital Black 500GB NVMe SSD – read and write speeds were 2.3 GB/s on…

I bought this case hoping to use it with a Samsung 960 NVMe 2280 m.2 SSD that I connect to my Mac Pro trash can via an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 (Apple th3x2) adapter wanted features 6 built-in Thunderbolt ports. Unfortunately, as this is a 2013 design, all of these ports are Thunderbolt 2 only. Unfortunately, plugging the case directly into the Apple Thunderbolt adapter does not provide (enough?) power to the drive inside the case. While the Apple Th3x2 adapter is bidirectional, it…

Update: After posting my first review I found some issues with the Sabrent Rocket 4. I usually leave my M1 iMac on all the time because I use it as a music server, so I do not immediately notice the problem. The problems with Rocket surfaced when I tried to put my iMac to sleep. The iMac sleeps for about a minute and then restarts. After a reboot everything is fine until it goes back to sleep and then the process repeats itself. I also noticed that the Rocket heats up all the time. It was very…
