Description of TIMEMORE 2020 Espresso Coffee Scales, Digital Kitchen Scales with Auto Timing, 2000 Grams, Black

1. The scale only measures in grams. The measuring precision of the scale is ±0.5g within a range of 0.5g-500g, ±1g within a range of 500g-1000g, ±3g within a range of 1000g-2000g. The initial minimum weight is 0.5g, the maximum load weight is 2kg. SIZE: 150mm*130mm*26mm (around 5.90in* 5.12in * 1.02in). The scale itself weighs 380g. As weighing and displaying are on the same plane, the reaction may delay a bit when you press. 2. The upgraded scale can use for both espresso and brewing. Please make sure the width and length of the drip tray of your espresso machine is no shorter than 12.5cm and 14.5cm and there’s at least 10cm between the bottom of your portafilter to the drip tray. 3. TYPE C USB CHARGING INTERFACE - Built-in1600mAh rechargeable lithium battery. A greener alternative power source makes battery last for 10 hrs. Don't use supercharge, use normal charge. 4. POWER SAVING - When the timer function is NOT turned on, it will automatically turn off after 3 minutes of standby. When the timer function IS turned on, it will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of standby (standby refers to the condition that there is no change in the measurement). 5. AUTO-TIMING - The scale timer starts to count automatically when the water is filled. ( 40 seconds or more to retain the data ) The number of times and weights will stop changing when you pick up the equipment. Allowing you to control the extraction time and extraction weight without interference and enjoy the aroma changes of coffee. Suitable for both espresso and pour over.

Good idea but useless due to a major flaw

This is a really good and intuitive scale, but it suffers from a major flaw. Every time I stop pouring water, the weight on the scale starts to decrease. Bottling stops during brewing for various reasons. This renders this beautiful scale completely unusable. I asked Revane to send me another one, but he did the same. No response from the company.

  • Pleasant

  • So far so good

Akaya's killer. There is an automatic timer.

I love this scale. He's so slim and low. An all-black matte panel with faded highlights gives these scales a "black mirror" vibe. The measurements are very accurate at 0.1g and the response is fairly quick making it easy to make accurate doses/ratio's. I use it to measure my shots on the Gaggia Classic. It fits under the portafilter spout with some effort, so it's quite thin. I got lucky and got a newer model with an automatic timer, so it's even better. At this scale, it's very hard to justify

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • A little torn

Really good scale. Functional, sexy, very affordable

Affordable and really fits into the workflow. After the purchase I can really weigh every shot! Easy. Which is pretty cool. There has always been such pain. But now I just take it and do it! The battery is also, which is nice, battery-free. The only downside is that the accuracy is rough, 0.1 grams, I would like 0.01. But guess what, that accuracy is totally fine for espresso shots, soooo, the scales do the job well! The competition costs around $250. So I really appreciate the affordable cost…

How To Turn On Auto Timing/Timer Mode

You're probably here because you're looking for an alternative to Acaia, well I'm happy to say THAT scale is for you . Internal battery, waterproof, accurate, timer. What is that, do you want an automatic timer? This one has it too! But the inclusion of it isn't obvious, and the instructions taped below aren't clear. TO ACTIVATE AUTOMATIC TIME: PRESS the Timer button until you hear a beep and the display begins to count down 3-2-1 from the right. You will notice an "A" symbol above the timer…

I am seriously considering buying this scale

At first this scale seemed like a cheap version of a premium product. I thought about returning it but decided to give it a try for a frosting. To my surprise, I liked the feel. Having used the Hario drip scale for years, I appreciate the grippy mat on top and the soft, grippy rubber feet on the bottom - the Chemex feels very stable. The key beep annoys me and many others, but can be switched off by pressing and holding the timer button. I don't like pressing the scale's weight platform to…

Volatile Weight

I have a Maxus scale that I use to weigh coffee beans and have never had an issue with accuracy. I bought this scale to use for watering. After using the scale for about 2 weeks, I weighed 19g of espresso beans. Three seconds later I weighed the beans again and the scale showed 14.6g! I weighed the beans on the Maxus scale and it showed 19g. I kept going back and forth between the two scales and each time I got a different weight on the Taymor scale! I turned off the Timemore scale, waited five

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Best (and maybe only) USB-C espresso scale

I've been using this scale for a few weeks as a replacement for a $20 scale/timer I bought here at Revain. This one wasn't waterproof, so I looked for a replacement that wasn't $200. I found the Timemore scale and was particularly excited to find that it charges via USB-C. It took a few weeks to ship from China but the scale works as advertised. That's a little more than I expected. As you can see from the photo it's bigger than my espresso drip tray but that's ok. The only frustrating part is…

Great scale and steal at this price

Last year I bought an Acaia Pearl S scale. So I don't care about Bluetooth and smart features on the scale. When I received this Timemore B22 scale I pulled out some calibration weights to check accuracy. I weighed 200 grams, 100, 50 and 5. Then I compared the weight to Akaya. At one weight these two scales were the same and at all other weights the difference was 1/10th of a gram. The speed seemed about the same to me. These scales load very quickly and fix the weight quickly. It's a bit…
