So I bought these to wear with the tuxedos I bought for a wedding my two little boys were attending. The other boys at the wedding paid big bucks to rent tuxedos/shoes. These shoes held up much better than the other boys who rented them. However these shoes seem to wear out very quickly so I wouldn't expect them to last more than 1 or 2 events. However, they are strong enough for boys to be boys.
