This tool is just great. It's a lot easier to use than Grunge Brush or similar when it comes to cleaning and oiling the chain on my bike. Put it on the chain, open it, apply detergent, spin the wheel a few times. Voila! Remove the tool, wipe the chain, and continue with the rest of the maintenance process.

Over the years I have used regular cleaning brushes, toothbrushes, tire brushes and even a special grunge style brush to clean motorcycle chains. That thing defeats them all. Just put it on and pull. The brush simultaneously cleans the top/bottom and sides. It takes a bit of muscle power to pull the chain through, but the stiff bristles do the job well.

Wear disposable nitrile or vinyl gloves when using this to clean your chain and it is 100% worth it. Cleaned a chain that the previous owner didn't clean 2000 miles in 15 minutes. wonderful thing. Update 1 year later - just bought a second one for my girlfriend to use on her R6 at her house. Came red instead of black. It still works just as well.

Exceptionally good product for removing sand, dirt and old oil from nooks and crannies, 360 degrees around the chain. Follow with a rag wrapped around the chain to pick up whatever the Tirox knocked out, and you'll be beaming and ready for a new coat in no time. Just make sure whatever chain degreaser you use is completely rinsed out before re-lubricating. Someone really thought things through when they created this.

This thing sweeps away the grunge brush. I don't know how anyone could own a chain drive bike without this thing. As an added bonus, it's compact enough to take with you on trips that require chain maintenance. The only downside is that you have to wear gloves so you can't get dirty with them. You will most likely find smudges on your arm and possibly on your shirt. So dress appropriately. Look at the photo, sorry I didn't take a before photo but believe me the chain was black. Look at my picture. This chain is from my 2012 CBR600RR and it was so dirty and nasty. Now it looks like new and you can even see the thickness of the size 525 in the link. I used Petroleum 1-K to clean the chain with this brush. Nothing works better than kerosene and nothing is safer for O-rings. I bought a Lowes professional aerosol can for a few dollars and bought some kerosene there. Model 1-K for heaters. Filled a spray bottle then sprayed onto the chain and used this brush with a rag…
