🔧 Tomei Short Shift Knob - 70mm Length Review

I put this on my R33 when I bought a new boot and surrounds. Looks good and feels good. I'm happy with it, although I would have liked it to be a little heavier.

The shifter is sick, feels good in the hand. Not too big and not too small, the top does get a little bit after sitting in the sun all day, but it's a lot better than the looser fit the car was before.

Installation took maybe 30 seconds on my '92 Miata like most and I'm very happy with the result. It looks like it should have been there, even more so than the factory pen I had before. It feels great and despite the heat coming from the switch drum, it feels VERY cool. All in all I would DEFINITELY buy again!

I bought the 70mm version for my 350z, you need a switch finisher to keep it looking good so keep that in mind. I'm tired of being too easy but it does the job perfectly. I used weighted knobs before the $60 Skunk2 knob in my old civilian Si, and I can say I like this $33 knob better. The sun doesn't get hot or too cold from what I've seen so far.

Initially I was stuck between this shift knob and Mishimoto grip for my 2008 350z and I am very glad that I chose Tomei. The shift knob looks great with the rest of the details. my black interior and it actually goes pretty well with the OEM replacement boots (you'll need to adjust the zip on the inside for a better fit). This is a continuation of my first review of this pen. After using it for a few months I found that the short version just wasn't long enough for my hands and I needed the long version. Unfortunately, Tomei doesn't make one that fits my Mazda MX-5 Miata.
