Good quality on brake flare tools

item looks good. My last of the set (not this brand) broke on the bladder, not the dual flare this part is designed for. Glad to get a quality replacement as 3/16 is a very common size.

Pros
  • great price
Cons
  • sad packaging

Works well. When I broke the center tit.

Works well. When I broke the centering head on the torch die that came with the torch kit I have, buying that kit was a lot cheaper than buying a brand new kit.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not sure

Coordinates with Tools & Accessories

I break them all the time, but I break adapters from all manufacturers. I think it's just a matter of size and strength. In terms of how well it works, they last twice as long on me as others I've received.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Available in Black only

Mandatory for brake line repair

I broke the original flare tool and bought this as a replacement. 3/16 inch is the most commonly used size in cars. Because the center pin is small, it may break if handled improperly. This works fine.

Pros
  • Free for training purposes

KTI Flaring Tool Adapter you may need in your tool kit.

With the pen pointing up, the first step on the edge is a gauge to set the correct height of the end of your line (prior to flare) over the flare tool if it double is flaring. I've found that with nickel/copper line, just one strand works best for me (I used 4Lifetime line). If you have fairly tight lines in the die + a tiny wrinkle line + a flare on the edge of the tube after finishing, just sand it gently after the flare. Save on purchasing this a la carte set to add to your set than buyingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
