This is half merino wool. The hat is not as soft as the other versions listed but I think it will be warmer in cold weather. The rest is much softer and, frankly, more comfortable. This merino version is also smaller and therefore conforms better to the head as it conforms to the shape of your skull. However, this is a beautiful cap.

. Fountain. I ordered the first one in December 2019 and now finally a year later I'm ordering more because they have held up very well. Of course there are spots where the thread has snapped and stretched with use, but overall this is the best knitted hat I've had. Too bad there aren't any other color options for it, I'd like a green version of it.

Got the black merino for my boyfriend and he loved it. He is VERY picky about how his hat fits. He doesn't like to bend down, but he doesn't wear a skullcap either. It was perfect. I was shocked. highly recommended. He says it's a little itchy, but he has really sensitive skin. The itching seems to be less when it's not very hot/sweaty. definitely recommend!

Where I'm from we call them sock hats. When I see them for sale I see a lot of people calling them beanies. Whatever you want to call them, there's that kind of wool that doesn't itch, which is great. I can actually say that it retains heat better than the all polyester kind. Excellent purchase!

I've had this for about a year... still very soft, no stitching issues, perfect size. Liked the wool blend, not itchy at all. It really can be the best hat in terms of value for money. $14? I just ordered two more lol. Any review that says this hat isn't very good is most likely from another hat company that hates its beauty.
