Couldn't tell the original from this one. so that's good

I keep getting random error messages about missing fuel cap. The original on my 2016 Toyota has already deteriorated. The rubber seal is torn - let air through.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

If the check engine light came on, that would be it.

Check engine light came on and a friend scanned my car. Showed I was getting code P0456 (EVAP system leak detected) (very small leak). I replaced the factory cover with this one, the error was gone.

Good quality, easy assembly

Fit very well. I bought this gas cap to replace the original gas cap on my 2014 Toyota Corolla. If your engine and kill light come on at the same time, this could be a cause - an old cap that no longer makes a 'click' sound when unscrewed.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some small things

Genuine Product - Caps

This did not solve my specific problem but it is a genuine part. Now I know my gas cap is working properly. Now I have complaints about this product or delivery. You may want to check the parts department at your local Toyota dealership as you can save a few bucks compared to buying the part online. But if you're like me then I'm a cucumber then that's a fair price for shipping.

Toyota wanted $89 for engine evaporator diagnosis Check Code

After some negotiation, my local dealer wanted to charge me for diagnosing my check engine light. I refused to pay. I bought and serviced our last two Toyotas from this dealer. How about customer loyalty. Instead, I drove to an auto parts store where they scanned my check engine light for free, looked at the code, and told me what the most common fault was. Loose or poorly closed gas cap. They even told me to order this cap from Amazon because it was OEM and would probably fit. They said they…
