Great price, useful product

I installed these this weekend using paracord to tie my greenhouse. The paracord goes through the holes perfectly and they adjust the tension of the straps very quickly and easily. The bright red color makes them stand out.

Pros
  • Outdoors
Cons
  • So far so good

Easier to understand than others

If you are stupid like me buy this one. Many others I've looked at on youtube seemed a lot harder to understand how to use, this one was clearer (to me at least). I've never used a tent stretcher before, so this was new to me. The very first time I used them on a camping trip, it was pretty easy to make (just look it up on youtube first). They are easy to use, fit exactly/do what they are supposed to do.

Pros
  • Utility Cord
Cons
  • Volume

couldn't handle the tension

they couldn't handle tension on the 2.5mm cable I was trying to use them with. They are held down with a 3mm cord, which I tried, until the load gets a bit heavy. Update: I tried drilling another hole in the ring opposite the center of the two existing holes. I then threaded the 2.5mm cord through the two existing holes and then into the new hole and tied a knot. This results in more flex in the line and holds up very well. Too bad they didn't make them.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • small items

Doesn't work well with Zing-It

I've used this with Zing-it 2.2mm cord. Two problems: the holes drilled in them often have burrs that catch on the line. I have the MSR guy lines that these rings are modeled on and I use them exactly like these. At first they held tight, but with a light wind, the stretch marks began to loosen. I just couldn't get her to hold tight enough. I ended up throwing away those pieces of metal and just tying the cocked hitch. Usually clutches have 2 loops on a side, but with slippery Zing-It try…

Pros
  • rope, cord and webbing
Cons
  • Some bugs
