Description of Traditional Portuguese Terracotta Sausage N Kitchen & Dining

Hand Painted. Food Safe (Lead & Cadmium Free). Made in Portugal. To roast a sausage simply pour alcohol into the Sausage Roaster. The more alcohol in the roaster, the longer the flame will last. Traditionally, the sausage is left whole but with slices about one inch apart along the top. Ignite the alcohol using a match or lighter. Rotate the sausage every minute until desired crispiness is achieved. Then, serve!.

Authentic Terracotta Bakeware Impressed Me

THANKS to my knowledge gained in practice, i know that baking in a terracotta dish produces a deliciously crispy crust with a moist interior. This traditional Portuguese bakeware did not disappoint! The presentation was impressive too .The only downside is that the large size may be difficult to store in some kitchens..

Pros
  • Gives a traditional and authentic feel to your kitchen decor.
Cons
  • May crack or break easily during transit due to the fragility of terracotta material.

After a trip to Portugal I wanted these

I didn't have room for this in my luggage on the trip (hand luggage only). Glad it's available here. Alcohol is placed on the bottom of this plate and chorizo is placed on top. It should be dried chorizo, like in Spain and Portugal, not raw Mexican. This hob heats and browns chorizos perfectly, and then they can be cut into chunks for tapas. Works perfectly!

Pros
  • Food safe (lead and cadmium free)
Cons
  • No form required
