Disappointing Antenna Performance

When I tried this product, I was disappointed with the weak signal reception and poor audio quality. Although it is compact and easy to install, it failed to work effectively as a basic amateur radio antenna.

Pros
  • Compact and easy to install
Cons
  • Weak signal reception and poor audio quality

I put my VHF SWR meter on it and it shows about 1

Already preset to the right length for a 2 meter amateur (144-148MHz). Out of curiosity I put my VHF SWR meter on it and it read about 1.2 SWR. Works great, it's 1/4 shaft, no tuning required.

Pros
  • 1/4 wave
Cons
  • Some little things

Cheap Price Cheap Antenna

What do you want for about $10? I bought this for a temporary setup with the Nagoya Groundplane Kit. This will work fine. I checked the SWR, it falls in the mid 2 meter range. No configuration is required, which is good since there's no way to configure it anyway. Not reliable enough for extended mobile use. Suitable for my purposes.

Pros
  • 200W
Cons
  • Having Trouble
