🚐 Black Tram 1241 5-inch NMO Magnet Mount Review

I now have three NMO magnetic mounts, ranging from 3 1/2, 5 1/2 to this last Tram Black 5 inch. WHY 3?... No, I don't have 3 cars, just 1. This is a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan with panoramic roof. This magmount was of better quality than the previous two, not only did it hold up better but the material was obviously much better.

I used to have a smaller mount. I have a large dual band antenna that is quite heavy. Another horse was blown away by winds of 70mph. This sticks like glue, even at higher speeds. This is probably too big a mount for smaller antennas, which is perfect for tiles. It's almost impossible to remove unless the antenna is screwed on. Remove the antenna and the mount cannot be moved.

Bought an antenna and another mount on Hamfest and my SWR was badly crooked. The antenna seller tested the antenna, found no problems and offered to replace the bracket. I bought this mount and wow! Doesn't matter! I know there is no circuitry in the mount itself other than connecting the transmission line, but there must have been a defect in the other mount I had. This one is perfect! Excellent work!

The extra few feet of cable is very handy and allows me to run the cable conveniently rather than having to do what I have to do with other antennas that only have 12 feet of cable offer. The magnet is more than adequate for the Tram 1180 I've connected it to and although I use it with a handheld it fits perfectly in the compartment of my work trolley, so I'd prefer a BNC connector to the fact that the PL -259 is easy to use with an adapter and maybe one day I'll use it with a real mobile setup
