The ratchet shaft broke on the second use.

Nice concept and most looks well put together but I sent it back because the ratchet broke on the second use. Also, any kink at the end of the bar that allows the bar to be rotated a quarter turn to disengage the pawl must be formed so that it does not touch the edge of the door when released and potentially scratch the door. I wish it was more durable, but it isn't.

Door Lifter - Monitor Accessory

I was curious and decided to try this nifty door lifter. This is useful for lifting heavy doors just enough to screw the top hinge to the door. Of course, this is just an extra hand, so you still have to raise the other hand. It will not balance the door for you. It has pretty good clamping power and ease of use, but it does have a few downsides. Rotate the metal bar towards the door and push to raise it. Helps with those naughty doors

I really like this door stand. It is quite durable and works well for 1 3/8 inch interior and exterior doors. in the castle and met. --It has some "play" or "flex" but it's not really that bad --- Don't push it or be careless with it though. Do not leave the door unattended while it is being supported in case someone leans against it or the like. There are 2 good rubber bumpers at the ends to fix the door to the wall. Works well.
