I switched from WD-40 to this coolant for machining (mainly aluminum) on my 3 axis CNC mill. Very happy with the quality and results, especially compared to the WD-40/water mix I used previously. Although I've heard that full synthetic coolant can chip paint off cars, I haven't experienced any paint damage - this could be related to the degree of water dilution.

Good. At the suggested dilution ratio I had a great finish, almost odorless, and my tool stayed cool. However, I had a lot of foam. I'm still trying to tune the system pressure and dilution ratio, hoping to find a good one-size-fits-all solution. but until then I'll fight with the foam. As an update, I'd like to report that while I still enjoy a decent finish, I found sticky residue on everything around this liquid splatter. So I'll keep looking for a good all-purpose fluid.

Failed to load media. It's a spray coolant and it helps a lot in keeping my bits from clogging when cutting 6061 aluminum. Now I can leave the room for a few minutes and have confidence that the bit isn't clogging or making a rattle. The fog fluid was more expensive than my real mister, but still very valuable considering you can dilute it up to 35% with water. I used regular filtered water as my Mister was so cheap I don't care if it goes bad as long as I don't use distilled water. Fill lines…
