I only bought this lock 6 months ago and found yesterday that it had been overpowered and removed by a thief trying to steal my locked trailer. Luckily they didn't notice my trailer but my confidence in this product was completely gone as was the $50 I spent to purchase it.

One day I went to my caravan and found that the lock was completely gone except for a small piece of metal. Someone just blew everything up and took most of the castle. Luckily, they decided my trailer wasn't worth the trouble of pulling. This lock is garbage.

I bought this lock for a small trailer. Unlike padlocks, which can be easily cut with bolt cutters, this heavy-duty padlock requires much more force to remove. Some reviewers say you can use a pry bar to pry it off, but nothing is 100% reliable. As others have said, this is a good deterrent for would-be thieves.

Will NOT fit ANY of my 21ft Hi-Lo or 21.5ft Forest River toy dump trucks with 2-5/16 tongue size is NO problem, these are heavy duty trailers that use this ball size have a wide A" shaped tongue with tabs/lugs around the frame that prevent the steel hoop from sliding off the sides and into the holes when the ball is inserted. Otherwise a well made product must be at least 9". be large to fit all tongues of the trailer.

I was worried about fitting it to my 2001 Coleman Westlake trailer but it fit perfectly. This was my first experience with this type of lock and it took me a little learning to get it right. It felt like cycling after the first time and got easier the second and third time I used the lock. I highly recommend this lock for the price and ease of use.

I wanted a lock so that "an honest person stays honest". Well this is perfect for my needs. My boat/trailer is already in my yard but I need something other than my trailer chained to another trailer. Seems solid enough for my needs - yes someone can smash it with a good sledgehammer but as I said it suits my needs. The lock and key work perfectly, no jamming. Goes perfectly with my muff and the red color looks amazing!

The lock fitted well and I was impressed with its performance. When I first took it off, the lock felt a bit sticky. I had to fumble to unlock the locking mechanism. The second time I tried to remove the lock, turning the key simply broke the toggle switch or something in the key area and the key turned freely but didn't remove the lock. I bought it for work and needed to hook up a trailer and drive off so I had to cut the lock. very disappointed!

Update --- I bought one for my jet ski and trailer. They do their job, but unfortunately they have to be outside because they are all stuck inside and rusted after the winter. I fought for hours and will cut them up and send them back to the seller. I'm sure a little 1 cent thrasher in production would solve the problem. I say if it's in your garage you're fine, but cover the hitch with plastic bags and duct tape if you run it in inclement weather.

We bought this hitch less than a year ago for our small pull out camper. When I tried to take it off yesterday, the key didn't fit into the mechanism. I sprayed the lock with WD40 and left it. After about 10 minutes I tried to insert the key and it still wouldn't budge. The only positive thing about all of this is that after trying everything with the lock I got a hammer and banged on the sides of the lock. Turns out they're pewter and break off pretty easily. I would not recommend this lock…
