Simple and lightning fast

I only use this for 3.5" HDDs so can't speak to SSD speed. This is a very simple plug and play solution to using regular hard drives as external and when connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port there is no noticeable difference in speed/latency compared to connecting directly to the SATA Ports on the Motherboard .

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Not everything fits

The doors are fragile. XFR speed is slower than expected.

The device works fine. Failure of the "door" on first use. The hinge unit has become detached from the device. USB C does not indicate the expected transfer speed, but a possible cable or host controller limitation.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • I will add later

Works very well but not quite what I expected

I ran out of internal SATA ports on my Gigabyte Aorus motherboard and had to connect two additional SSDs (4TB Samsung EVO 860 and 2TB WD Blue). While it seemed a bit pricey (I assumed the computer didn't require cloning capability), I figured that with 10Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 it would be preferable to add a PCIe bus expansion card that could have a or two PCIe lanes (my motherboard has four 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 ports on the back). When the device arrived (one day, thanks to Revain Prime!) I was…

I only use this for 3, 5 inch HDDs, so I can't comment on the speed of the SSD. offers a very simple plug and play solution for using traditional hard drives as external, and when connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port there is no noticeable difference in speed/latency compared to connecting directly to the SATA ports on the motherboard.
