Doesn't switch automatically as advertised

Setup was easy and the software was easy to install but the switch had to be flipped manually. It doesn't automatically switch between two computers as advertised, which is why I bought it. This must be changed manually by pressing a button on the device or a hotkey on the computer.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Very expensive

Simple and works

Works well for switching keyboard and mouse between desktop and work laptop. Two host computers do not always need to be powered on and connected for the switch to work. I had to wrap the buttons with gauze tape, the blue LED is very bright and lights up a small room at night.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add

Almost perfect - edited

The previous one didn't work well with Linux, but this one works. But to switch from port 3 to another port I have to disable everything but the port I want to switch to. However, since this switch is transparent to Linux, this bad "Hang on 3" feature is only worth one star. I found another port where I have to disable everything for it to switch. There goes another star. After using this for a while, failing to switch to a different port became very annoying. I put it in my spares pile. That…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • A few minor things

There was an issue with a certain batch where the buttons got stuck out of the hole. This is easily remedied by placing a small puck on the board to lift the board. We had another batch where this wasn't an issue so I think they fixed it. I hope they fix this; Or was it a new topic? I do not know. Other than that, it works great! 3 stars for product inconsistency due to buttons. But if they fix it with an answer they knew fixed it then I'll change it to 5. EDIT: Tripplite answered in the same…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Great product, good for plugs and adapters

I originally had a Sabrent - it didn't work at all. Tried Tripp Lite - works great. No problems with feedback. Easy to set up, it just works. I can always trust Tripp Lite for many years.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Modern

The switch works fine. The problem was with the installation CD.

The switch is working properly. The problem was that the installation CD that came with it didn't work with my Win 7 Pro as stated in the product specs. I downloaded the installer from the manufacturer's website. I then had to go to WinZip to extract and install it. It was not a standalone installation. This process was required for two computers that I wanted to use with the switch. Another problem is that I can't find a way to permanently show the control on the taskbar: it only shows up when

Pros
  • Compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 peripherals
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

USB Print Switch for AV accessories

Used in professional (rental) AV environments. We have to share a printer with four laptops and cannot install the software on the computers. Of course, this requires at least Windows XP and that the shared printer is displayed on this operating system. This is the ONLY app we used for the device. Not ideal because it doesn't switch automatically, but we've never seen a USB switch that did (the old Centronics switches did). All in all though, hotkey switching (enabled without installing any…

Pros
  • Ideal for home and small office
Cons
  • Newer model could have been selected

I have two laptops, two monitors and a docking station. My two monitors are connected to my dock. Laptop cement switching physically switches the input cable from my docking station between laptops. With this switch I was able to run an input cable from my dock to the switch and then a cable to each of my laptops, so I only have to select number one or number two on the switch. Super clean super light super cool! The device comes with software and I didn't need it. Also requires no electricity.

Pros
  • Saves money, time and workspace
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
