Poor quality, best in protective gear

I love the style of these gloves so I'm giving them two stars. Style aside, they feel very flimsy and cheap. A weekend in the dunes and they're already torn at your fingertips. These are the first Troy Lee gloves I've bought and I'm not happy with them. I am in the process of ordering Fox gloves.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Not what I expected

THE PREPARATION WAS NOT THE BEST. I was riding the Tapia Canyon Trail on a mountain bike with these new gloves on and the stitching was starting to unravel on one of the fingers on my left hand. Colors are not as vivid as they appear to be available for purchase here. I really expected more comfort and style than they actually are. Also, the company never responded to my email inquiry.

Pros
  • The best in my niche
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Broke after 2 rides - Updated

This is my second pair. The first pair lasted 6 months. They broke down after 2 rides, less than 20 miles total. Not very impressed, especially from a reputable brand. --- I emailed the proof of purchase and photo to Troy Lee Designs and they sent me a new pair. Pretty impressive. Not sure how they will hold up but it's nice to see the customer service.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Almost never

Must be heavier!

I work in Las Vegas, I work security and I'm outside. In the summer I work the day shift. And showed me how it is. I really liked their style and design but the color faded and the fibers shed in the first 2 days when I started wearing them. Should be thicker and that let me down. These gloves have garnered a lot of attention and I would not recommend them to anyone. Get better quality instead.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Clarity

Nice light glove.

Just received today. They appear to be good lightweight gloves but they don't really offer much protection in BMX racing. They do not offer any top or bottom addons. The TLD logo on the palm is made of rubber, making it easier for you to hold. I have a pair of Fly Racing F16 gloves and a pair of Adidas baseball gloves that offer more padding, grip and protection to compare.

  • New

The new version goes above and beyond

The original version of this glove was AMAZING. Comfortable, durable, amazing. I wore them frequently for 3 years on trails, enduros, bike parks and many crashes before they finally started falling apart. This new version is uncomfortable due to the many rough seams on the inside that rub against your hands. To make matters worse they have 2 holes after 1 ride and the stitching is coming out on EVERY toe. They couldn't have done worse in this new version.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Useless features

Size a bit small, light weight

Haven't used them yet but as far as I know they are comfortable. Troy Lee's glove size listed on their website says Medium is 3.5 inches, knuckle to knuckle in the palm. I'm exactly 3.5 and the medium size fits me perfectly when I put on a glove. Opening the glove past the knuckles was VERY tight. So tight that at first I was afraid that the glove would break the first time I put it on. If my hand was bigger, I would need a bigger one. I have a feeling that after a few rides they will loosen up

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • So-so

Better naked. in Motorcycle & Powersports

Imagine the thinnest glove you've ever felt. These are even thinner. You can sweat in them, and then they start falling apart. I think I can look cool in it on a trip. I bought them for BMX and I know they won't last long. You can forget about that on a dirt bike. They wear out your palms in less than 15 minutes. No protection against mosquitoes either. I used to always buy Thor. The first and last time I buy Troy. It's better to buy a pair of mechanic's gloves, they are thicker. Of course, the

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

  • Good but not great
