Great music for gymnastics

Good songs if you like this music. Two songs were copied (soundwise) from old scratched vinyl records. I'll try a different band next time. Nice music for older people if you like western music or cowboy movies.

Still good: carpets and floor coverings

I thought there would be more songs with Roy on lead vocals and the Sons backing him ala The Roy Rogers Show. That was not always so. Nonetheless, this is an extremely enjoyable album and I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Easy to lay
Cons
  • The list is long.

Good music for other sports

I was wrong in my previous review. When I played a CD through the TV sound system, the music was very good. I especially enjoyed listening to Bob Nolan. I still couldn't hear the bass player. I hope to find several versions of reMasterd that are better than this one.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons

Nice tunes in Other Sports

Maybe you wanted a Big Levbowski soundtrack but were disappointed that it didn't have the Tumbleweed sound. Well, the song about water is cool too. Nothing wrong here unless you like this genre. Try reading Dao Dude. It goes well with the music.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Real western music.

Excellent album. I used to listen to songs with my dad on old '78 discs that had one song on each side. The album cover is also authentic. I was born in my 40's and my name was inspired by Bob Nolan from the band. Roy, Bob, Ken and Pat are all my heroes.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some nuances

I love this CD: Sport

OK. grew up with a six-shot toy gun on his hip! Saw The Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers on a Saturday morning. Maybe it's in my blood, but I love this music. Don't get me wrong, I love rock too. But every once in a while I just enjoy listening to the stuff. My toe starts tapping and then I sing along. Then my wife yells at me and I keep silent but my toe keeps tapping! Ha!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Brings back good memories

I love this CD. Most of the compilations are classic western songs that I remember for a long time. Roy Rogers contributes a lot to the performances with his beautiful singing voice. The reason I bought the CD was to get "Blue Prairie". In my opinion this is an excellent rendition of the song, far superior to other Sons of the Pioneers recordings of the same track. It has an undercurrent of Depression-era bitterness and heartache that makes the song more meaningful. The tempo and theโ€ฆ

Nice mix of entries.

Did I mention I love Reader's Digest collections? If not, I will now. Typically this ranges from Jimmie Rogers to Bing Crosby and everything in between. There are songs about trains, songs about gunfights, songs about tumbleweeds, TV westerns, and so on. The sound quality on this set is excellent, except for one thing: mono recordings are processed in stereo. I understand this was the norm for the time, but the original mono recordings would have been much better. That's actually why I onlyโ€ฆ

Rogers' early singing in a long-established band.

These are recordings from the 1930's and 1940's of a famous singing group that not only produced cowboy movie hero Roy Rogers, but also later character actor Ken Curtis, Deputy Festus Huggins on the famous TV series Gunsmoke played . I bought it because it was a good price and I had a Christmas gift card, but mainly because Roy Rogers shook two fingers off my right hand at his annual summer rodeo at Madison Square Garden in New York City around 1954 or 1955. I was about ten years old. Roy isn't
