Since there are no special installation instructions, I did what any sensible person would do. I wiped the surface clean and made sure there was enough dust free surface to stick the sticky side on. It took about 5 minutes to stick to the underside of my desk before falling on my toes. I'm not sure if it was worth what I paid. Hope you have better results.

This is the best price for a right size box. Not much fits in there, but it's enough for a few pens and stickers. Sometimes that's all you need. There's more than enough glue to deal with whatever little stuff you put in the drawer. Even if you stuffed a bunch of pennies in it, he could probably still handle it. If it was a little more expensive it wouldn't be worth it, but it's spot on.

I bought two of these for a custom desk I made for my home office. Despite being smaller, they hold a lot. They slide fairly easily and attach well to the table (to be honest I don't know if I could detach them if I wanted to). The only thing I had to watch out for was stuffing them too full. I had one because the items inside got stuck on the inner lip, which I didn't know existed. Now that I know it's there I try not to clutter it up, but it still does the job.

I have bought 3 of these units and have been mounting them to the underside of my sit sit desk for 6 months now. They didn't come off as the glue seems secure. They open and close easily without much friction or noise. They're unobtrusive, but I find them useful for keeping relatively small items within reach: headphones, lip balm, screen wipers, spinners, pens, stickers, and, yes, a cat. heals.
