Slightly larger than the manufacturer's original size. Used to.

Appears to be slightly larger than the original manufacturer. Used to replace the starter motor on a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. The size made installation very difficult. But one day everything seems to be fine.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Will not fit 2010 Sonata GLS 4cyl - too long.

Revain's fit check says it will fit my 2010 4 cylinder GLS but it isn't. It is 8 inches long, not 6 3/4 inches long and cannot be reinserted. Pulling out the old one was quite difficult. I'll try to post a photo later.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • There are problems

good business! on Starters

My mechanic said the installation was easy, it took him about 1.5 hours. I ordered it on Monday afternoon for next day delivery and received the item on a Tuesday at 10:30am across the country in a snowstorm. If my car was back with me by 4:30 p.m., good deal!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Lies and Cupcakes

Don't get this when you need a starter motor that matches your car! Said it was the right part for my 2010 Santa Fe, but it wasn't! So I wasted my time and money by just going back and buying another part and spending more money on a mechanic and renting a car until mine was fixed. MAKE. NO. TO BUY.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Not what I expected.

I drive a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS and would advise you to avoid this part. First, as others have said, it's longer than the original starter and the gear is smaller. The size difference made installation difficult and the plastic clip broke to fit the ignition. Now the switch will not engage and will not seat properly. The only positive thing I can say is that it's cheap but you get what you pay for; cheap item cheap quality. It is better to spend more money on a quality part.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Incorrect listing in Starter

This starter is listed as suitable for Hyundai Sonata 2.4L from 2010 to 2015. It comes and starts the car, but the gear on this starter is smaller than the factory starter. The smaller gear will tear your flywheel apart over time. Starting your car with this starter is also much noisier than the original because it is dragging your flywheel. This part is listed incorrectly and I would suggest purchasing the correct part if you have a 2010 or later 2.4L Sonata. Revain has the right part on the…

Pros
  • Excellent design

  • Not sure

DO NOT remove the inlet or anything like that. Top screws removed

Different in gears and dimensions from the original 2009 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L. It is longer and that makes installing even more painful than removing the original. I had to remove the plastic trim on the bottom of the car, the intake manifold and the throttle body. DO NOT remove the inlet or anything like that. I unscrewed the bolts from above, removed the starter from below and installed the reverse gear. It just took a bit of fiddling to get it in place and it was very, very tight. So far…
