The mount is perfect and just what I expected. You cannot close the fairytale gate when the rear window is open. Sometimes you want to. And sometimes gravity tries to do it for you. It's annoying and I know I'll break something one day.

Used on a 2003 Jeep TJ. Fits well, no problems installing the bracket. The hole is not very suitable for the base of the CB antenna and for an amateur radio antenna. I had to add a stainless steel washer to increase the surface area a bit, but overall this seems like a good solution for mounting our antenna on a Jeep with an approximately 35" (2m/70cm) long dual band antenna place. .

It looks like most people have it installed on the passenger side. I put mine on the driver's side. It just seemed easier than trying to have enough clearance for my TJ. The tailgate hinges seem to get in the way when I install them on the passenger side. However. great mount for my 4" Firestick antenna on my TJ Wrangler. Great fit and very durable. Be sure to drill a hole and use the optional screw mount for extra stability.

No fitting instructions included, had to fiddle around a bit. It is stated to be mounted behind the tail light and the supplied "rivet nut" is for the 4th mounting point, however the steel rivet nut should not be steel as it is too difficult to break with the supplied bolt. , must be aluminum and half the diameter. I used a large washer and self tapping screw as the fourth attachment and grounding point for the CB wire.

So the description says it runs on 18 JK. I have a Rubicon Recon 18 and it doesn't fit. The rod holder is different so it doesn't sit flush when screwed in. I read the reviews and another person mentioned that they flipped it and bought spacers and longer screws and put them on the other side. I did the same and it worked, but it was very tight, the cord is difficult to tighten. , and there's a chance it will rub against the back door, so be careful.
