So far so good! Best in Computers & Accessories

Bought a brand new 15" MacBook Pro and didn't realize there were very few (almost no) adapters for the 24" LED Apple Cinema Display. Because this display uses the MiniDisplay connector, I used my old laptop that was still connected to the display for larger design work and to port things over to my new laptop to keep everything in sync. I then found a review of this product on MacWorld UK and ordered it. He works like a champ. I've only been using it for a few days but it works great and allows

It worked for a while but failed

I bought this to use with an Apple monitor. I have an old Apple Cinema Display that still works great. Yes, this is an Apple Cinema Mini Display, not a Thunderbolt model. I've been using the UPTab USB-C Type-C to Mini DisplayPort 4K @ 60Hz (Silver) Adapter for a while, but the adapter didn't work. The screen will dim/black out every few minutes. At first I thought the problem might be with the monitor or my MacBook, I tried another laptop and saw the same problem. If the monitor is connected…

I purchased this adapter to connect a 30" Apple Cinema HD display to a 2018 15" MacBook Pro via the Apple Mini Display Port to Dual Link DVI Adapter. I've tried a few similar adapters with no success. Others either didn't work at all (blank screen) or gave the USB accessory disabled error. He got the job done right away. No mistakes. No questions. If you're trying to use a legacy 30-inch Apple Cinema HD display with the latest USB-C-only MacBook Pro, you only need one device (other than this…

Everything will be fine

I have an Apple Cinema Display and used it with my 2011 MacBook Air. I have a MacBook Pro"13 2017 and bought this adapter so I can keep using the display. This adapter works great. You need this adapter and a USB to USB-C adapter (I got the Apple one in the Bought store). , when I took my Mac with me.) You can also buy an extra power cord to keep one with the screen and the other in my bag (I travel a lot so I did this). The screen's power cord in anything. It just stays off. Your MacBook Pro…

computer. I first tried a Thunder 2 to Thunder 3 converter but it didn't work as my (2004) Apple LED Cinema Display actually has a mini display input. I called Apple Support and they were able to confirm this was the case, they even checked out this webpage with me and said it was worth a try. I ordered and this USBC to mini display works GREAT and I'm back up and running. Hooray! Not using the old USB input on the display (wow, technically sorry) means I can't use the camcorder on my monitor…

SOMEWAY works. depending on your situation.

Read it, it may save you a headache. My setup was as follows: a Thunderbolt 3 (USB C) laptop connected to a CalDigit TS3+ docking station. From the dock I am connected to a 27" monitor via a DP-DP cable (no problem). I also have a second 27" monitor that was connected to the dock's TB3 port via this dongle (I'm looking at) "TB3 to miniDP port". This was my problem area as the monitor that was plugged into this dongle (regardless of whether I switched monitors or not) was showing a black screen…

This is an overview of using the Uptake adapter with the Mini DisplayPort version of the Apple monitor. NOT the THUNDERBOLT version. The monitor cable consists of 3 parts: 1) Mini DisplayPort monitor (MDP), which is included in the UpTab adapter. The UpTab adapter then plugs into one of the USB-C ports on the MacBookPro. 2) The monitor's USB port is connected to another USB to USB-C adapter that I purchased separately. It then connects to another USB-C port on the MacBookPro. 3) The cable for…

Doesn't support Apple Cinema DVI Monitor

I recently upgraded my MacBookPro to a newer 2019 model with four USB Type-C ports. My old MacBookPro had a MiniDisplay port which I used to connect an Apple Cinema 23" HD DVI monitor with Apple DVI to MiniDisplay adapter. I assumed the Apple MiniDisplay to USB Type-C adapter would work with the new MBPro. So I did tried CableCreation's USB Type-C to DVI adapter which claims to be compatible with MBPro 2019. It didn't work, I then tried the Benfei USB Type-C to DVI adapter which also claims to…
