I should have read the reviews before buying. It worked great on my Audio A4, but after a few weeks the check engine light came on. The codes reset and he did it again. The old cap is on and everything is fine.

Great purchase for my 2001 B5 S4, fits perfectly with hook strap and is basically a faithful replica. I compared the original $60 Audi cover, the material style and thickness of the gasket inside is the same unless you want to pay $60 just so you can say it's an OEM Audi , don't get it, but if you have the sanity, this $18 gas cap is exactly the same

Avoid this at all costs. I bought this gas cap because the wiring harness on my original cap broke. I thought I could save, but saving is a compromise. This URO parts gas cap triggered the Check Engine light and according to the OBD an EVAP fault code was displayed - a small leak was detected. The lid was tight, a few clicks --- changed nothing. Buy the original from your local Audi dealer, even if it costs three times as much.

Perfect! Now there are two reasons you might need this: a fuel cap warning light and an engine light for zero vacuum in the evaporator system. Newer cars (maybe 03 and newer) have a magnetic pickup right where you fill where the cap is. You need a different fuel cap for this warning light. Now if you have a CHECK ENGINE light and code for small/large evaporator leaks then this cap will fix the problem if your old cap is defective and the problem is not with another hose or component in the EVAP
