Ordered a size 8 for my 8 year old daughter who normally only wears a size 7/8 and they fit her very tight. Gave these to my 6 year old daughter who wears 6's in everything and they fit her perfectly. I ordered a size 10 for an 8 year old girl and I'm surprised they will last all winter. But they are very soft and stretch a little. They're also sheer and thin, so don't expect anything to keep your kid warm (that would be great for a Texas winter).

They are very soft. It conforms to the shape without being tight. I still stretch but my son is skinny. Not bulging, not hanging from it. He is 5 years old and usually wears a size 5 or 5/6. I ordered 6/7 in these pajamas. Fits great. I'm going to wash it now and hang it to dry. I don't know if it shrinks (and becomes shriveled, unusable) like all brand name pajamas.
