Val Gardena ski resort is located in Northern Italy, in the Dolomites of South Tyrol, best known as winter paradise for their skiing and snowboarding and as a summer destination for their rock climbing. The village of Val Gardena ski resort is situated at 1,236m and the peak elevation takes you up to 2,500m providing a 1,264m vertical drop.
As part of the Dolomiti Superski area, which includes a total of 17 Italian ski resorts, with an incredible 978km of skiing. This is made up for 665 individual trails and accessed by 573 ski lifts that are spread throughout this combined ski area. Val Gardena ski resort is lift-linked directly to Sella Ronda and offers famous runs such as Ciampinoi, Dantercepies and Piz Sella. They do offer lift tickets that grant you direct access to all of this terrain with the one lift ticket.
On its own Val Gardena offers more than 175km of terrain that caters more for beginners and intermediate skiers. The terrain breakdown is approximately 30% beginner trails, 60% intermediate and 10% for advanced skiers and snowboarders.
In 1970, Val Gardena hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, and has played host to international ski events for over 30 years. Val Gardena ski resort has been awarded “Leading Mountain Resorts of the World” title for offering first class quality mountain holidays.
