I bought this cable hoping to extend my desktop screen to an older Dell monitor I have so I can easily compare documents without printing them out. Easy to connect, long cable and after initial panic over the wrong size of the display it did exactly what I needed. I asked a question while looking at this cable and got an answer very quickly. I recommend this cord.

Plug and play. For those who are doing this for the first time (connecting a laptop to an external monitor for more work options), you will likely lose the audio. Do not worry about it. Just right click on the sound icon in the lower right corner (Windows users only) > Playback Devices and disable the HDMI cable. Bought two of these cables to create a switching network to share a dual monitor between two computers (desktop and laptop). One of the cables was clearly damaged. he worked intermittently. Tried on both computers. You can move the cable a certain way and it will fail. The other of the two I bought works perfectly. Update: Got a replacement for a broken cable and bought another one. The replacement cable works perfectly.

I bought this product specifically for my Nintendo Switch. The wire does not look cheap and has a decent weight. Works like a clock, the computer recognized it automatically. UPDATE Less than two months later, the cable is already defective. It started with moving it slightly, and only that could cause the signal to cut off. It was ok because I could basically click/move it and the signal came back. Bought on August 22nd, now on September 15th and it no longer works.

In general everything was fine with this cable. I connected the laptop to the monitor and it worked straight away. However, after about a day of use I got that noticed my monitor turned off and i had to fiddle with the cable to get the monitor back.after a while it just lost connection.i tried to disconnect and reconnect but at that point my monitor couldn't even read the VGA connection Really need this for my dual monitor to work from home unfortunately it didn't work and I'll be returning it…

Seems easy to install and use; I did what I was supposed to and the computer just didn't recognize the cable/device. I went through the settings and everything was fine. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I took it to my IT specialist who magically checked the cable with a multimeter and nothing! Somewhere in the insulation the cable was damaged. I was glad to know that I had the option to connect two ends of the cable, but very upset that this thing didn't work right out of the box.
