Volume control style fan control is the boss. The way the drive sled slides into the case is a bit flimsy, but it looks good and works great with a 16TB drive. I had to buy an extra one because one of the holders had two screws inside that hold the "tray" in place, guess why they give two extra screws? Could I send the disassembled one back or just pop in another drive and keep it as a spare? I couldn't find any others claiming to work over 8TB so a full 5 what else can you do at this point?

The LED is NOT working so it's hard to tell if it's on or not. Disappointing purchase. If you are reading this I would advise you to look elsewhere for the corpus. Quality control is not good.

I have had several opportunities to test this product and am generally satisfied. 50% worked. I'm having an issue with a specific hard drive where the screw bolts on the side of the case don't match. I contacted Vantec technical support and they helped me and instructed me how to solve this problem. Attach a specific user guide page to help me in case anyone else had a similar problem.

I need a fanned USB enclosure for a 24/7 drive (for my Mac's hourly "Time Machine" backup) to prevent overheating avoid. This case suits me. Installation is a bit trickier than some others, but then again the drive is held very securely and doesn't stand a chance of falling out of the bay like some other cases. Replacement unit works fine. That's how it is today. There is no quality control by the manufacturer. I think it's cheaper to replace than to make sure it's working properly. So many vendor site reviews are heavily weighted by highest and lowest rating. If it works out of the box and works as expected, top marks. If it's DOA, lower rating.
