First the pros. My rats liked it for 48 hours. It's very soft and easy to clean after it's lasted so long. Bright colors and 3 different levels for lots of hiding and sleeping places. The problem with this hammock is that the 4 angled hanging cables are not metal and while my rats enjoyed it for 2 days they chewed through the hanging supports overnight. Took about a week for the little ones to chew off one of the hangers. Super nice and comfy for her, but the build strength is totally lacking. Until they make the suspensions more durable I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you're willing to fix it yourself. It's also not that easy to clean, the fabric just loves to hold onto food crumbs and other harmful debris, and while it says it's machine safe, I highly doubt that claim. This is the second hammock we have ordered - our 4 little rats love this hammock. Yes, they do chew a little (which is to be expected), but that's not why we bought a second one. The first actually holds up quite well. We bought a second one so we could easily swap it out while cleaning while the other one was in the wash.
