Description of ๐ŸŠ CARPRO Velvet Orange Peel Removal Pad โ€“ Clear Coat Paint Layer Repair (Pack of 2)

Create a perfectly smooth surface without having to resort to wet sanding - a practice that should only be performed by those who have honed their skills in a body shop environment. While removing orange peel and deep defects you are also polishing the paint rather than leaving sanding marks which reduces the steps needed afterwards. Equivalent to 3000 grit sandpaper without the dulling of paint and sanding haze. Please only use these pads if you are sure the orange peel is in the upper (clear coat) and not the color coat layer. Size: 5 1/4" diameter. Thickness: 5/16". Pore size: 80ppi. Foam hardness: 3kpa. Material: Velvet polishing surface with hook and loop backing.

Pads Work, but build up residue quickly

Pad works as advertised. Did a good job with some effort. Removing the residue really helps. I would buy these pads again.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Does NOT work as advertised.

Don't waste your time with this inefficient product. If you hope that you don't have to grind an orange peel because you bought this product, you will be very disappointed.

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Wow those work on tools and gadgets

I was very skeptical at first that they would actually work and oh my god with the cutting polish and those pads on the DA buffer. The color looked a thousand times better. Being new to this, I've been very careful not to use it too often lest I burn out. There's still some orange peel left, but it's a lot less of it, and it's only because of my caution that it's left.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Not working as advertised

I used them on the factory paint job of the 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic (orange peel on clear coat) I wasn't very happy with the results after spending 7 hours with these pads ( 4 of them) and M100 Mirror Glaze Pro Speed Compound by Meguiar. I followed the directions and treated the whole car twice which may have reduced the orange peel a bit. I believe I would have had the same results if I had used the Meguiar connection alone.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Has problems

This might work for refining to 3000 grit.

These things might do for sanding like 3000 grit sandpaper as the pad says they only remove orange peel to a certain degree (25%) and then there you won't get any further with a rotary polisher and a hard paste, you only generate a strong dangerous heat. and really no more deleting, maybe you should try 2000 grit denim pads, apparently there is no clear classification of these items by grit on amazon, try the official carpro site.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Empty

Wow this work in the Tools & Equipment section

At first I was very skeptical that these would actually work and oh my god the polish looked a million times better with the cut polish and those pads on the DA buffer. Being new to this, I've been very careful not to use it too often lest I burn out. There's still some orange peel left, but it's a lot less of it, and it's only because of my caution that it's left.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Long time
