Venum Challenger Standup Shinguards Medium Review

Bought for karate sparring with my 13 year old son. He was very pleased that they protect his shins and ankles and provide comfort. Some instructors and students recommended Venum Challengers to him based on their experience with them. Adjustable straps are much tighter than soccer guards.

Product arrived in good condition. Then they don't complain. After the adjustment, they felt very uncomfortable. I tried to save money but in the end I regretted it. I trade them for other Venoms that were more expensive. Much better choice. Don't be fooled, watch your shins unless you're going to be using them very little.

These pads fit well and don't move, offer good protection and are lightweight. I use them for Krav Maga and Sparology. I can also say that I compliment them because nobody in my studio has this style. I ordered the medium first and they were too small but after sending them back I ordered the large which fits perfectly. I'm 5'10, 155 pounds and slim; Shoe size 10 and 1/2. I hope this helps someone who wants to get a good size.

These wardens gave me a crazy chemical burn and a rash that required steroid injections to get rid of. I've never had a problem with any of Venum's other products, but these things are made with some kind of nasty chemical somewhere. I read that some other people had the same problem with these guards. If you buy them, only wear them for about 15 minutes the first time and see if your skin gets irritated. I wore them to spar for an hour and now I can't even put my shoes on.

I'm new to Muay Thai and wanted to have my own pads for training and sparring. After doing a lot of research I decided to give it a try and fell in love. They are very comfortable and will not move when in use if properly fastened. These shields also provide excellent protection. The sizing chart was accurate for me and I could have gone down a size, but I ordered according to the sizing chart just to be on the safe side. I had to order this item twice because the first item was defective and unfortunately today I received the same second item again and it is still defective. together where my leg needs to go, so I had to cut it myself. I have attached photos below. I will keep this item as i need it to study asap but i am very disappointed with the quality and the waste of time to get this item.

I use these for muay thai sparring and they fit great offer great protection and remain without any adjustment whatsoever no matter how many times I checked the shin, kicked, caught my kicks and slipped and how much I was sweating. So far so good, I've used them for MMA and Muay Thai and have trained with them quite a bit over the past two weeks. As far as I can tell, they're a bit stiff at first, but they break pretty quickly. They protect the lower leg and the entire lower leg area and even the lower part of the knee (may depend on the size of the foot and the size of the order).
