Description of Verbatim 25GB Blu-ray BD-R LTH Disc 2X Single-Layer (Low to High Speed), 1-Disc 96569

Low to High (LTH) – BD-R LTH is the same as all other Blu-ray media, except it’s manufactured using a more efficient production process. High-Definition – Blu-ray discs are designed especially to store large HD video and audio files. So, you’ll use fewer discs when you’re backing-up, recording or duplicating high definition digital recordings - including your music library. Hard Coat - All Verbatim Blu-ray discs are treated with a super hard coat to prevent scratches, resist fingerprints and reduce dust build-up. Laser Technology – Verbatim Blu-ray discs use blue-violet laser technology to read and write data. That means, superb resolution, excellent contrast, vivid colors and amazing sound. Capacity - The Verbatim single-layer Blu-ray disc offers up to 25GB of storage space to back-up your video, music, photos and more.

Worse Than Terrible - Dangerous

Imagine backing up discs with this media and not being able to read them when you need to restore files. Not a disc, but a typical one. The error occurs on the same disk they were recorded on.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons

Worn out after a year or two.

At first they seemed like a great, inexpensive alternative to regular BD-R discs, but after a few years they became unreadable. They just don't seem to store data as well as a regular guy. The stock drive is great, but the LTH isn't great.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Clarity

Big disappointment

My first choice for a BD-R was literally as I used it for a dual layer DVD and it was the best quality. But its BD-R line is a big disappointment. Every 1 in 5 burns is severe. I contacted them for an exchange and got nothing back. So I tried Optical Quantum because I saw it was cheaper. The main thing is that nothing burns! Optical Quantum is cheaper and more reliable. For now, you should avoid Verbatim until Verbatim improves the quality and lowers the price.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • Short manual

Great product that has worked great for me!

I have used about 150 of these drives and have had no problems. They work fast and make perfect data or film discs. I can play them on any Blu-ray computer I have and on our PS3 play stations. I use them on the following Blu-ray drives on my computers: * Pioneer Black SATA Blu-ray Writer BDR-206DBKS * LG Blu-ray WH10LS30 DVD/BR Writer I've never had a badly burned disc. I can use these drives on the two drives listed above.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

about 5 out of 20 discs were bad

If the disc is good then I think it is a very good product but there is a quality control problem because of 20 discs in the spindle , 5 were bad. When a disc is bad, you can look at the underside and see round little blemish dots that stick out, which only messes up the burning process. When this disc is good, it looks perfect. They're still cheap enough, so I bought another spindle. I hope there will be no defective discs in the new coil. Added a photo of a bad disk with spots.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Exchange bearing

I just spent $30 on this

Designed to be compatible with LG BH10Ls30 Super Multi Blu-ray Recorder. YOU ARE NOT! I just wasted 7. Now all coasters! I thought it might be a bad Blu-ray unit so I returned it as it was only 2 days old. Put another one in and still get error messages when trying to burn those discs. But the free Verbatim disc (x6) that came with the unit worked great recording the project. Like the one that came with the second device I installed. I tried to record projects with 3 different programs. They…

Pros
  • . Easy to use
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Bad business practices

18 out of 20 became toasters. The remaining two discs burn without errors, but the picture quality on my LG player is poor. The Panasonic player couldn't play them at all. It's called verbatim. Will not replace other types of BD-R discs. Revain still has a warranty page stating that if there is a problem, Verbatim will replace the discs. Any manufacturer can produce defective products but don't want to redeem their own warranty? Wow! I have decided to stop using Verbatim's product. My recorder…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Crumpled

My LG burner worked fine with these discs at slow 2x (I'm so used to 4x it seems too slow to me). Anyway, it is not compatible with my Liteon iHOS104 reader. There is no firmware update for Liteon to make it compatible. So I called Verbatim as the Revain site says in the warranty section that if they are not compatible they will exchange these LTHs for an HTL type. The boss told me that Verbatim's policy is to NEVER replace anything that is different from the original product. So I reiterate…

Good brand name, bad BD-R LTH

Like other reviewers, Verbatim is generally considered better than most and most of their DVD+R and DVD+R DL products are among the best. I recently purchased the latest Buffalo TECHNOLOGIES 12X external Blu-ray burner with the latest updated firmware. I also have LG Blu-ray players. After trying to save 9 of my movies onto 9 VERBATIM discs, none of those 9 burned discs would play on the Buffalo. MY LG players worked slightly better, loading and playing, but due to disk consistency, each disk…
