Victor EZ12PBL Centimeters and Millimeters Measurement Tool Review

I bought 2 of these rulers for my kids basic algebra class. The problem with this ruler is 4 corners. They are very sharp and tough. If you stick your hand in a backpack with this ruler, you risk seriously scratching your hand. In the worst case, the accidental suicide of the ruler. Yes, it's that bad.

VERY disappointed with this line. Although you cannot see it from the pictures, the line markings are printed onto a sheet of paper/cloth which is then adhered to the metal. This is absolutely unacceptable for an instrument used to measure something accurately. Be careful Victor, your customers know your tricks and tricks. No doubt some sellers thought this would increase profits by 0.0005% over a more robust and quality-focused design.

Too bad I didn't take the time to read the reviews before ordering. The description never mentions that the measurements are a sticker on a paper label. They make you believe it's engraved on stainless steel. Also, the measurements didn't start at the end of the ruler. The one I received was about 1/16 inch off due to the way the tag was attached. I agree it's good for those learning to read a ruler. It's just not what I need or what I thought I was going to get. Note to self: don't order…

The top of the ruler (printed in black and blue) is a thin sheet that is glued to a clear plastic base. The top sheet does not align with the base and the corners of the sheet protrude further than the base, causing the corners to catch on objects and come loose. I had two corners peeled off even before I took the ruler out of the box. If you look at the ruler from below, you can also see air pockets in the glue. So I can't imagine it will last very long. While other reviews correctly point out that the mark is printed on a label on the front of the ruler, I disagree on the importance of this. The ruler itself is a very strong piece of steel with a cork back, which is great. The label won't stand up to extreme treatment (scraping) compared to an etched label, but it looks just as strong and stable as if it was painted on and just as thin.
