The prices have fallen! I bought one of these many years ago and it eventually blew up (their previous version is about 6 years old). I was very happy with the speed and reliability. The most important things are size and ease of use, since at work I'm constantly sharing files on the fly. 4k video, editing, design etc. It's only been a day but nothing has changed, love it. high performance SSD is a must when booting from OS. While a high-capacity flash drive is inexpensive and technically viable, your performance will be terrible compared to the original. I installed Windows 10 on this external drive and use it to boot Windows when required by a Windows-only application. I don't like the situation but I LOVE the solution. With one exception, the device works exactly as I expected. The device heats up when writing to a disc, causing it to slow down when performing tasks that take longer than a few minutes.
