Vitamix 2-Part Lid and Plug: 64-Ounce High Profile, Black - 15855, Top Quality Blender Accessory Review

This was bought to replace one that the dog stole from the counter and ate. I have to say the other one has held up pretty well considering the Tibetan Mastiff played and chewed for about an hour before I found her and this one. The other one I could probably wash in the dishwasher and use, but the thought sickened me. Well, to keep that away from her. wish me luck!

Arrived in perfect condition. I'm so glad I still have a cover. I ordered another clear end cap but having two caps isn't that bad. Now that I'm using tampers, I can leave the clear stopper in a lid. A word to the wise: do not keep the clear part in a blender. I used a tamper and didn't realize the clear plug was down. It's amazing I only destroyed the fork and not the blades!

My native Vitamix cap is falling apart so I ordered this replacement cap. The description said it would fit 64 ounce Vitamix containers, but it was too small for my 64 ounce Vitamix. Maybe it's only for certain styles, but I haven't seen anything that's specified. I live in Asia and needed someone to bring it to me. Had to buy these after a roommate decided to hide corn tortillas in my Vitamix blender while I was away on business for a month. He completely forgot about her. When I came back the tortillas were green and rancid and the blender and lid smelled. The blender carafe was fine after soaking in bleach water, but no soaking, washing, baking soda dip, or other tricks I know of could save the rubber lid. Fortunately, this replacement is perfect.
