Not Category 6, only 100 Mbit/s, not 1 Gbit/s

Attention buyers, this is not Category 6! I ran this cable for an access point and only got 100Mbps. Cut another cable to test, same results. Tried it on my laptop, same result.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • No color required

Know what you get!

Over the years I've moved a lot of network cables. This CAT6 cable was terrible. The individual strands are very brittle and easily break during processing. Made traction very difficult. middle seal shit! It's thin and crumpled, and then to take it off it stretches like rubber. Don't do this unless you have a VERY straight line and are drawing an old design.

Pros
  • Quick Change

Works well, easy to pull into line

Generally satisfied. Walked 250 feet on smurf pipes (in the wall) and hard pipes outdoors. Everything went smoothly. I just had to reconnect, and that's probably just because I didn't know how to use the punch tool. Surprisingly I managed to get 4 of these Cat 6s in parallel with 1 rg6 in a Smurf 3/4 tube. Note that this was a short distance with a 90 degree turn and no POE, but I fully expected there would be a jam and I would have to run a parallel channel instead.

There's a filter in there: Cat 6 cable

Can't recommend, damn it, I can't even use it. No photos show that there is a filter inside which is really uncomfortable to use. But even after doing it and testing it, I only get 10Mbps. Okay, maybe I messed up, try again. then nothing. OK, try again. 10 Mbps. I've tried several times and I either get nothing or only 10Mbps. At this rate I'm running out of cable. While doing this I also noticed that it kinks very easily and bends the wires themselves very easily (making it difficult to getโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Big selection

Great product for computer accessories and peripherals

I just ran 50 meters of this stuff and can see it downloads faster than Cat. 5 which is less than 5 feet from the main switch. I pulled this cable around some pretty sharp corners and bends and a very tight hole in the concrete and a couple of times I was concerned I was overdoing it but no, the cable held up. The only point of criticism is that the cable bends upwards when unpacked. I would give 4.5 stars if I could as there was a small issue. For those who are still buying cables, make sureโ€ฆ

Great product for Cat 6 cables

Just walked 170ft from this stuff and can see it downloads faster than a Cat 5 PC less than 5ft away. from the main switch. I ran this cable through some pretty tight turns and bends and through a very tight hole in the concrete and a couple of times I was concerned I was going to overdo it but no, the cable held up. The only criticism is that the cable twists when pulled out of the packaging. I would give 4.5 stars if I could as there was a small issue. For those who are still buying cablesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Color - Charcoal gray outer jacket
Cons
  • Unreliable

I bought this primarily for a 70 foot run around my cave through wire boxes, no sharp corners or pinch points. Pretty easy. I made a 2 foot speed test patch cord and got gigabit speeds but with a lot of variability. I don't have a cable tester and used an old laptop with a hard drive to test network speed and that explains it. I've also removed three switches and a long-standing CAT6 network from my NAS, but I've seen theoretical peak speeds for gigabit networks. I was running a 70 foot network

Pros
  • Material - Solid 23 AWG pure copper, TIA/EIA Compliant
