I bought this to kill noise when travelling. Not as loud as I was hoping, I usually sleep with a 16" floor fan. However, lower noise levels can be beneficial for most people. Compact design and excellent quality. Enjoy it when you travel.

I travel for work so I often visit hotels. This is my last fan purchase and I really like it. Collapsible legs and a retractable front pocket and rear drawstring flap make it easy to fit in your luggage. There are only 2 speeds so I always dial up. It creates enough wind to keep the air circulating and lots of background noise to drown out the noise. Very happy with this purchase.

The hinges cannot support the weight of the fan. So when it blows forward, after about 5 minutes, it tilts forward and blows straight up. You can slip a rolled-up sock or similar underneath, but expensive as it is, it's not worth it. Also, the airflow is weak for such a large and heavy fan. Vornado is a great company, but the engineers shit in this bed. They are also a Kansas and KU sux company.

I want to clarify that I did not receive this product for free in exchange for a review. So that's my unbiased opinion. The reason I bought this fan was for travel, specifically for use on an upcoming cruise. I liked that it is compact and lightweight. Unfortunately, the fan I received was defective. As always, the build quality of this fan is excellent. I have (3) other Vornado fans; 1 personal Zippi fan and 2 VFan Mini Classic vintage fans in green and vintage white. Extension 6 has less air volume than the other two fans. In fact, Zippi's personal fan is very compact and folds up easily. What's really annoying about the Expand 6 is that IT WON'T STAY IN THE POSITION YOU SET IT IN, meaning it will always lean towards the ceiling if left alone.
