Fits Mamiya 645

Used it on my Mamiya 645 to convert to a chest strap. It's a bit awkward to turn due to friction and isn't designed for wide mounts. But it fits out of the box and with a little modification (duct tape to cover the holes) I would trust it in the field.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Works, but there is only one set in the kit - beware!

Works as intended but loses two stars because the description says 'two sets' and only one is included. A set is more than one object by definition, so of course I expected four connectors because two is a set. Please correct the description so as not to deceive future buyers.

  • Free for educational purposes

Will NOT work with Diamondback binoculars! I bought it.

Will NOT work with Diamondback binoculars! I bought this item because it was advertised as compatible with Vortex binoculars. While this may be true of other Vortex styles, the Diamondback style is not. The band is 1/2" wide and rubber, which is approximately 1/16" larger than the band hole on the Diamondbacks. You could slide it through if it was nylon, but thick rubber just doesn't fit. Give them back and buy thin nylons.

  • Absolutely amazing!

After about a year wear and cracks started

Bought in April 2020 and since this year they are very worn and cracking/cracking. They have been used quite heavily, almost daily (I'm a bird watcher) but certainly not abused. They worked great on my Vortex Diamondback 10x50, but it's time to replace them (I'll try the Op/Tech Adapt this time). I live in Colorado where the climate is fairly dry which may have shortened their lifespan. Of course, four dollars is pennies for a year of use, but there are undoubtedly better options.

Now you can use binoculars with any strap

I have binoculars that I like but the holes in them only fit the small strap that comes with it. This belt wore out quickly. I added this connector set to my binoculars and now I can easily switch between different carry straps and shoulder straps. It was a bit difficult at first to figure out how to add them to my bins. Since there are slots at each end, I initially thought the metal ring should go through them. But the distance was clearly too small. Instead, thread the tip of the metal ring…

Fits Vortex Diamondback Binoculars

It was difficult but I got them working with my Vortex Daimondback binoculars. First I threaded a strong carpet thread through the bino mounting hole from below. Then I thread the thread through the connecting hole without the metal ring. I then threaded the thread back through the top of the bino mounting hole. I wound the free end of the thread onto a spool (so as not to cut my fingers) and tightened. I then used a set of vises to pull the harness connector through a little over halfway. I…

Reliable connection between binoculars and binocular strap.

I have a Nikon strap that came with thin leather straps to connect the strap to the binoculars. They failed the first time I used them. So I ordered a set of Vortex connectors. They are made from durable nylon with metal eyelets and a key ring connector that goes through the eyelets on the strap. Latches on a leash snap into rings. The straps took a bit of persuading to get through the slots on my Eagle Optics 8x42 binoculars, but once installed they slid freely through the slots. There seems…
