perfect for my needs

It's easy to use and small enough to take with you everywhere. It's certainly easier to carry than a tripod or monopod, especially when you're in crowded places or places where it's inconvenient to set up a tripod. This allowed me to maneuver in tight spaces when photographing wildlife. For the price every photographer should have one

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good overall, but...

Steady as she goes.

My hands shake when I take pictures and I can't always have a tripod or monopod with me. It's plastic and feels flimsy, but having read other reviews about it, I'm very careful with it. When reeling in the leash, I hold the leash tight and DO NOT let it roll up like a tape measure. I don't babysit it, but I handle it carefully.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Easy to use as an accessory

Has its limits. But if you're in a poorly lit space where you can't use a tripod or even take it with you, such as to a museum, then this is probably the best portable option you have, with the exception of a monopod, which can sometimes also be banned. . .Plus, the ability to attach the hook/end of the Steadepod to your belt buckle makes it much easier to move around and find that perfect shot.

Best $20 I've ever spent

This product is probably the best purchase I've ever made in terms of photographic supplies. When I go shooting, I never leave this thing behind. It's lightweight, super easy to use, and durable. I've never encountered any problems and it's a great tool for stabilizing shots when you can't use a tripod. In addition, Cameron Products offers a lifetime warranty on the SteadePod. If something goes wrong, they will replace it. This is a must for photographers of all levels.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Quality

It works, but get a small tripod instead

Save money and buy a small tripod instead. I've used this about 1 or 2 times and I haven't touched it in months. I took it out the other day and tried to use it but it broke. The wire is no longer drawn in. They say they have a lifetime guarantee, but it's not worth the hassle and time it takes you to contact the manufacturer and return the item; only for the item to slow you down again. I still think it's much more important to save money and get a small tripod.

Stops cleaning after a few uses

I agree with other reviewers who reported that the device stopped working after a few uses. It has never been EASY to use. It was difficult to move the lever between locking and adjusting, but I was willing to deal with that inconvenience. He died on me at Angkor Wat, leaving me without a stabilization device during a spectacular sunrise. I tried to block it but it wouldn't block. I needed an extra cable which made the device unusable. I threw it away in disgust. Save money. Find somethingโ€ฆ
