The wall mount screws had a base diameter of 1/8 inch and an overall length of 1.5 inch. After accounting for the 5/8" drywall thickness, 1/8" metal mount thickness, and the tapered end of the screw, there wasn't enough thread-to-wood contact for my liking. The item has arrived and looks exactly like the picture. I like it because it's actually flat and even. I used it in the larger width so I had to buy some more braces at my local hardware store and these braces weren't perfectly square. Thankfully, that's not the case with these ends. not so important. Looks great with the 11.5" deep shelf on top!

I could give this one 3 stars but due to its durability I gave it 4. My dad's problem when he screwed it into my closet was that it wasn't exactly at a 90 degree angle so it didn't fit the wall and top of my closet shelf. It was almost deformed. Because of this, he was unable to screw the rod to the top of the shelf. However, my dad said it wouldn't hurt because he screwed it to the wall really well. Overall the rod does what it's supposed to and my closet is a lot safer now.

I recently bought a top holder and we've found surprises left and right. One of them is the closet rod. This is a 5 foot wide cabinet and I couldn't figure out why the bar wasn't installed until I installed it myself. The massive failure was enough for me to feel like the bar was going to break in half. I measured and bought it hoping to solve this problem and it was perfect.
