From the outside, the product looks beautiful. I have no idea what's inside, we can't remove the shell. I tried it and then gave it to my husband, not a pushover, he couldn't take it off either. It is non-refundable. I had no idea or I wouldn't have bought it. SO DISAPPOINTED!

This is a well made, very strong/stiff pickaxe. With a rather attractive brass (brass I think) threaded ring on the cap! 7-18-21 Small update, I tried wiping the tip after breaking off some ice cubes and the tip got stuck in the fabric I was using. To my dismay! Here's what I found (see photo)

Ice ax does what it's designed to do. I love that it has a container so the choice isn't just lacking. My only complaint is that I thought it would take longer. The pick itself is about the size of my husband's index finger. And we have this jar that we use to freeze water and then poke in to break the ice and the pickaxe is so short my husband can't lift the block of ice on the ground.

not even 6.5 inches let alone the advertised 9 inches. the blade is not even 2.5 inches. useless as an ice axe. pretty but. So if you want nice functionality, buy this. otherwise don't do it. Another reviewer also got the 6-inch model. Oh yeah. Although it is a durable product, returns are not allowed. Read other reviews. The item list says nothing about this anywhere, so please inform yourself about this item before making a purchase decision.

After spending a few minutes trying to somehow unscrew the center ring, I figured someone else had the problem, so I checked the reviews. I should have done this before ordering a selection. I would see how many other people have the same problem and I would order a different product.

Some customers commented on the difficulty in unscrewing the upper part I had the same problem and I used 2 pairs of cloth pliers so as not to ruin the finish also unclipping the pick blade marks the handle that happened to me too. I put 4-5 drops of super glue on the grip and pushed the pick back into the grip until it was fully seated. If it doesn't last I use JB Weld, I know it will. For $5 and a good choice, I'm not giving up, I'm stubborn and cheap. Update: After fixing this pick it works…

Ordered and reordered three times. and every time I get a product that cannot be used. because the two halves cannot be separated without damage. There are four "pieces". two wooden arrowheads and two brass arrowheads (and of course a lock pick). Two brass tips fused together (probably due to excess glue). So when the two halves of wood are pulled apart, the wood comes out of the brass tip BUT the two tips remain fused together. Good product but useless because it is manufactured. So all three…
