Definitely not solid brass!

Very unfortunate that this is not solid brass as described! If I wanted one that would rust I would spend 70% less and buy it from a local store.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Revainrating 1 out of 5

NOT solid brass. Revane should report this to these people.

Why did I bother buying this from Revain instead of my local Lowe's because the specs clearly say 'Solid Brass'. NO. It's a type of thin cheap metal covered in an extremely thin "polished chrome" finish.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Very expensive

Best I have ever used

I used to use cheaper chrome steel screens which always started to rust after a few months. Stainless steel is the only option. It is very easy to install any of them. Surprisingly, this one came with a port under the tub if you need that too. The description does not show this part. I just used a strainer and screw. The item is of very good quality.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • No mold required

Not all the water is drained from the tub.

On the original Gerbera, the holes in the dome of the filter are low enough to allow water to drain completely from the tank. The Westbrass Gerber style strainer has openings about 1/4" above the dome that prevent water from draining about 1/4" out. This 1/4 inch of water causes mold and scale to form around the screen. I sent the device back.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged

Still water at the edge

Because it doesn't have legs to make room for the water to drain completely, a puddle of water forms around it. See image. I expect it will wear out quickly. At some point, some coarse dirt also grows into the standing water. I believe the delta has one that has gaps around the edge to allow water to drain. I'll buy this one and see if it's any better.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Medium

Return - not the same product as in the photo

This product is not the same as in the photo. 1) The photo shows the drainage slots on the bottom edge/base of this item. Because of the shape, this helps drain water more efficiently. She doesn't have the ones they sent me. That's one of the main reasons I bought this. 2) This item has already been returned as it was badly scratched and the box was sealed with tape. The film isn't very important, but when you buy something "like new," you expect it to be the same.

Pros
  • Everything ok so far
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
