Bought 2 pieces one arrived broken. The glass was separated from the lantern mount and the bottom square piece of glass was shattered. It's probably not the manufacturer's fault, but I didn't pay attention to the right of return before I bought it. Apparently the 14% discount is the closing price and does not guarantee a refund.

I bought two of these to replace the old identical lights on the ceiling in front of my front door. The originals are somewhat faded. I was thinking of just replacing the outer plastic shell but found the new ones were a bit tight against the old metal frame. I ended up replacing all the fittings. No problem as everything you need was there. It was an easy setup if you're comfortable with wires and working on stairs.

I have bought three of these lights and the quality control is terrible. The lids do not fit well on the metal base. First one, then the other part does not fit together properly. It seems that the external dimensions of the metal base and the polyethylene cover are the same and do not allow the polyethylene covers to attach properly to the bases. I needed to replace the plastic housing on an existing porch light which broke after my wife tried to clean it. The existing plastic case was 16 years old and fell apart in my wife's hands when I took it off to clean it. This was the cheapest I could find to replace a 9x9 porch light housing. The old flashlight had plastic inserts on the body, the new one had glass. Thanks to the glass, the light coming from the bulb looks much brighter and better than the previous plastic. Overall a good buy.

There are many fancier, more decorative, and more powerful lights to choose from, but this light is well made, easy and safe to install, and doesn't require a home purchase loan to purchase.
