It's flimsy plastic but it helps. Since it is on the ceiling, it is several meters away from even the tallest person. From this distance it looks like a fancy sculpture. You don't have to spend more than $$ for the wooden version. That looks great.

When trying to replace an overhead light I found that a common problem is that the hole can be too big and tripod rings don't come in different sizes. This was the easiest (only solution) to make a transition from a hole that was too big. It feels flimsy and cheap, but you don't notice it on the ceiling.

A cheap solution to covering a drywall hole. I tried another one that didn't fit and looked like a flimsy disposable plastic plate, this one seems pretty solid. I used some black spray paint which gave it a glossy finish and made it look more attractive than the white piece of plastic. It's molded from plastic and looks like plastic, but go over it with sandpaper to sand it down a bit and quickly apply a few coats of paint to give it a great look. Well, that fixes the issue as intended. During our first build/leaf swing experience, we cut out a hole that was used for a square lantern. I asked an electrician to install a new shower/bathtub faucet but the flange around the faucet did not fully cover the hole. Luckily he supplied a snap connector so I didn't have to fiddle with power. I had to trim the inside size of the locket due to the mount's design, but that was easy with a utility knife and pliers to snap off, which I didn't want to do. It was easy to install and the flat part of the surface allows for caulking. Otherwise, use a roller on the outside edge.
