I also have a few other Whiteside bits and they are of the highest quality. This set of spikes and grooves work great and provide a strong connection. I've used them on hickory to make stair treads; I can't let the joint fail. They cut very cleanly and are easy to set up.

Top quality, the best, suits me. Note, however, that these bits may not have the extra bearings you need to do your job. Whiteside also makes tongue and groove bits. In some cases, depending on many factors, you may need cutters with additional bearings. This will prevent the bit from retracting into the wood and then cutting deeper than intended. That can happen with these beats. When this happens, it usually happens at the very end of the board.
