Recurring bug problems in the bag

The first two bags of this food I received were great. The cats seemed to like it. Smaller chunks meant less mess in the food bowl (mine doesn't eat chewed chunks). My only cat that had hair issues looked sleek and felt great. Then the problems started. I bought from Revain and my local pet store, and found small white bugs in bags from both sources (three total). They don't look quite like typical mealworms. Really tiny little bugs that I could barely make out against the dark bowl they were…

Calories are WRONG!

I started feeding my cat 8 months ago, the calorie and fat content was lower than his old food and he needs to lose weight so I'm feeding him a little smaller portion a measured spoon. Cup carefully and in the hope of gradual weight loss. He gained 2.5 kg! I was confused! I looked closely at the calorie count and it says 1 cup equals 100 grams, so I measured that and 100 grams is actually 3/4 cup. This means that one measuring cup is actually 462 calories, not the 346 advertised when actual…

Good quality dry food

Both my cats eat wet and dry food. I switched to this Nature's Variety Instinct food because my cat didn't like it very much (had to add freeze dried raw toppers to get him to eat it). Anyway, he loves this food! No problem getting him to eat it. He's very active so it's hard to tell if it fills him up. He always acts hungry. I think my cat preferred the other food more. She has cerebellar hypoplasia (aka nodding cat syndrome) and if she gets an upset stomach, her situation in the litter box…

Great for all tastes, worries and ages

We have several cats of all ages and it has been a constant struggle to find dry food that everyone can eat and tolerate. We've tried a few and some have been great for some cats but not others. This meal has worked for everyone for the past few months. Among them was an older cat with stomach problems. According to the vet he is healthy, there is no cause for the illness, but vomiting from food was a problem. After all, this food has solved this problem, at least so far, and has done so for a…

I'm a terrible cat mom

I have to admit that I've lied to my cat for years. He has no idea. A few years ago, a colleague took care of me and fed my cat treats every day. I wasn't used to giving treats often so of course they enjoyed it. The brand she chose was of lower quality than what I usually feed but I eat McDs so what can I say? no longer visit. Instead of spending $7 a bag on quality cat treats, I tried another kibble to save money by offering something different from the regular kibble. In the end I created…
